DOT & AT or Diploma in in Operation Theatre and Anesthesia Technology is a diploma level program that can be done after Class 12/PUC or Class 10/SSLC. This course includes dealing with various sort of equipment and management techniques in an operation theatre. This course will provide candidates with the technical and interpersonal skills required to work under the supervision of nursing, anesthetists and surgical personnel.
This learning may include the various diagnostics equipment like ventilators, defibrillators, monitors, C-arm monitors and some assessment skills. This also focuses on knowledge and skills of monitoring infection control policy and procedure in operation theatre, pre and post-operative care, OT rooms sterilization and disinfection by following NABH Protocols etc.
Typical jobs that can be obtained after doing DOT&AT are Operating Theatre Staff, OT Technician, OT Assistant, Teacher etc. Jobs can be in Government or Private Hospitals or Private Clinics.
After doing DOT&AT, one can even choose to go for higher studies such as BSc or MSc in Operation Theatre Technology.
