Rules and Regulations

Admission

Upon admission, all selected candidates should submit original certificates of qualifying examinations and pay the prescribed fees.

Academic Requirements for Admission

1) A pass in class 12 or PUC in the science stream with a combination of topics like PCB, PCMB, CBZ.
2) Candidates with an English Typing experience or basic knowledge about computers would be favoured over other candidates.
3) If there are not enough candidates with PUC science qualifications, candidates with an S.S.L.C. certificate may be admitted to the courses (except Diploma in Ophthalmic Technology).

Age Limit for Admission

1) The applicant should have attained 15 years on or before 31st December for the next academic year.
2) The maximum age limit for the admission is 35 years
3) The upper age limit for SC & ST candidates will be 40 years for those candidates who are in service.

Fees

Registration Fee (Payable to the Board) Rs. 500/- one-time on admission
Tuition Fees (Management quota) Rs. 20,000/- per annum
Tuition Fees (Govt. quota) Rs. 8,000/- per annum

Examination Fees (Payable to the Board):

One subject Rs.400/-
Two subjects Rs.600/-
More than two subjects & for all subjects Rs.1100/-
Late fee Rs.15/- per day

The examination and penal fees once paid to the Board will not be refunded or reserved or adjusted for the next or subsequent examinations at any circumstances.

Documents to be submitted for Admission:

1) 10th / SSLC Marks Card (On admission, Candidates should submit original marks cards to SIMS)
2) 12th/PUC Marks Card (Only if student has cleared 12th/PUC)
3) Aadhaar Card Copy – Self attested
4) Passport Size Photographs (2 Nos)
5) Transfer Certificate or Migration Certificate Copy

Duration of Course

1. For PUC pass students – 2½ years (2 years + 6 months internship)
2. For SSLC pass students – 3½ years (3 years + 6 months internship)

Internal Assessment

Regular Internal assessment will be conducted by the Institute and the marks list containing the average of these two internal assessments shall be submitted to the Board well before the commencement of the Board examination.

Internal Assessment marks will not be considered as passing marks. They will only serve as an eligibility criteria for appearing for the annual examination.

Internal Assessment marks of 50% and Attendance of 75% are compulsory for appearing for the annual examination.

Examinations

The examinations to the candidates of Para Medical courses shall be conducted by the Para Medical Board. The Board examinations shall be conducted in accordance with the scheme of examination drawn for each subject.

There shall be two examinations in a year, i.e., Annual and Supplementary Examinations that shall be conducted by the Para Medical Board.

The Board examinations shall consist of written, practical and viva examinations as specified in the scheme of examination prescribed for each course.

Dress Code

The admitted candidates have been prescribed the following dress code by the Board which is common for both Boys and Girls - Blue Collared white Apron with Blue PMS Emblem on both the shoulders and Name Plate.

Hostel

Hostel facility is available on request for girls only.
Hostel Boarding fee : Rs 6,000/- per annum
Mess Fees : Rs 2,250/- per month

Scholarships & Fee Concessions

SIMS shall assist the students to apply for scholarships and seek donations from NGOs to meet their fee requirements.

For top performing students, SIMS shall also provide fee concessions.

A Fee Concession Form may be submitted by the students if they are keen on obtaining such facilities.

Student Guidelines

  • Students are expected to demonstrate professionalism and good conduct in their interactions with all stakeholders. Any act of misconduct or discrimination regarding gender, caste, religion, color, language, disability, shall not be tolerated and will result in disciplinary action by the Institute.
  • Students are expected to be regular to their classes and adhere to timely submissions of all assignments, practicals, etc. Absence of classes without prior notification will not be accepted.
  • Any from of leave should be taken with prior permission. Absence for 3 days or more on medical grounds must be accompanied by a medical certificate and submitted.
  • If a student is required to discontinue his/her studies due to legitimate reasons, a prior approval from the Principal is necessary. It requires the student to clear any outstanding fees and submit the “no dues certificate “to the principal for approval.
  • Students must come to class in the prescribed dress code and in neat condition. They are expected to wear their identity badges always.
  • Students must take care of the institute property and ensure there is no damage to furniture and equipment.
  • Students are not allowed to use mobile phone or electronic gadgets during class and laboratory hours.
  • Undesired activities such as use of tobacco, alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, use of abusive language and engaging in any form of violence, are strongly prohibited.
  • Students are expected to abide by all rules and regulations of the Institute. If any student is found to violate any of the rules, the Institute will take due disciplinary procedures and action.
